I had a riding day today, a damn long one. I left Tempe at 2:00pm, I got off the bike at 3:00am. Usually there is one day in every road trip, that kicks my ass, and this one was it. Leaving Az. I headed out on I10, if you have ever driven that road you know it long straight & HELL HOT. 

I10 is a long flat ride thru the Mojave desert. This day it was 108, and I spent 13 hrs on the bike, well kinda, it was so hot I had to stop every 50 miles or so & try to cool off. Then after making it accross the desert it was 85 miles of badly maintained, guaranteed to shake the kidneys right outta you urban freeway coming in the back side of L.A. 

From there over the grapevine down the other side and up the valley to a buddys place in Visalia. Arriving at 3:00am, damn long day :) but a good ride. 

Who knew there was a George Patton memorial meseum in  the middle of the desert, that includes a butload of real tanks. One of the fun things about road trips is running accross wackey stuff like that.

My origional plan was the head thru Nevada, Idaho, Utah a bit of Montana and maybe run up into Canada then drop back down into Wa. But bad weather in Utah, Montana, & Idaho kinda called for a plan B. So Im heading back the way I came.

Any of you that have ever ridden a bike know an almost 600 mile day is an ass kicker...so day of rest :)
